How to bed a savage rimfire
« on: March 31, 2009, 12:02:44 PM »
I have a savage model 93 wmr bull barrel. I'm getting a sharp shooter laminated stock for it. Do I have to put pillar beds in it, or just bed it, or do both?    Thanx Ken

With a rimfire rifle I usually bed the barrel channel and free float the action.

I think that if I were going to the trouble of bedding an action I would install pillars and do it up right.  It really doesn't take much more to put in pillars, I am not familiar with the Savage RF rifles however I have done the Savage CF rifles with great success.  Larry
A gun is just like a parachute, if you ever really need one, nothing else will do.

Thanks Matt, that is probably just what I'll do.

Thank you for the information, I'll look into it  a little deeper, I read on rfc where one fellow did that. Thanx, Ken
