In my research, looking at the .38 super and 9x23 I discovered the Star.
These are my conclusions, looking at it. First and foremost: I don't like Star's.
There are many models and designs for the super 9 and they are basically a super .38 though the number of designs don't always allow super .38 ammo.
Be careful here.
Also the number of designs create a need, sometimes, for different mags.
That saying a super 9 may not be the same super 9 in the same model but different design. Then you throw in the 9mm largo--what a mess.
It was so confusing I gave it up, got a 9x23 and a super .38 in an STI.

Thanks that is about the conclusion I have come too. In my research to date I have the same opinion that is why I posted, too many variations.

Bartrak, I have a Modelo Super 9mm pistol.  It is 9mm Para aka 9mm Luger aka 9x19.
Marked on the slide 9m/mP left side, right side Modelo Super.  If this is what your referring to it's a super pistol.  Has the take down lever on the right side above the trigger, easiest take down of any pistol I've ever seen.

I have one in 9mm largo.  good reliable pistol.  prints high at 25 yds, but groups pretty well.  use largo brass from starline and got data from starline .  only problem with them is there are almost no parts available to repair or upgrade them.  shoot it till it breaks and then use it for a display, I guess.
