Just got the report on my 608(took 6 plus months to get taurus to say they repaired it). Smith says cylinder stop was not replaced/someone ground down one side and that increased side to side play by 10 thousandths. He said it was close to possible mis-fires due to improper primer strike since cylinder was so far off center. He says it looks as if they used a dremel tool. Yoke/cylinder stop spring was not replaced but stretched to increase pressure. Smith says all it needed was a new cylinder stop and spring and fitted and all would have been ok. That is the quality work the factory Taurus gunsmiths do! Now the next problem. Cannot get a cylinder stop and spring from Taurus/they want the gun sent back for so called quality factory fitting.
Anyone have a cylinder stop for a 608 Taurus
