Honda Quad Keys...
« on: April 05, 2009, 10:54:00 AM »
I just lost a key to my Honda Quad…I have the spare so I am O.K. for now.  I need to get at least one made.

It is they type that has the plastic “cup” on it so that it seals when it is in the keyhole.  I have the key number but the nearest Honda dealer is 40 miles away.

Are there any other ways to get spare keys for these critters other than with the key number and a Honda dealer?

Thanks…BCB

If you have the one with the cap on it Im not sure you can get it cut on a normal key cutting machine. You might try a locksmith. He should be able to cut a key from the code. We dont keep the capped keys just the normal blanks. The capped ones are rather pricey.

Ron0777,

Thanks...Yep, I have the cap keys.

There aren't any Honda dealers close and I called  one and asked if he could send me one if I gave him the number.  He indicated he needed proof of ownership and he needed to see it.  So none through the mail!

I guess I would need to cut the cap off of the one that I have in order to get a duplicute made?  Guess I would check to see if any place has blanks before removing the cap...

The Honda dealer indicated they were $8.00 so I wonder if a locksmith might be more then that?  Guess I will need to call one in the area...

Oh well, thanks for the reply...
