If you mean the .22 Spitfires such as Gander Mountain sells, you will find they are the Federal hyper velocity 32 gr at 1550 fps. Snappy little rounds at a fair price..nice, but not world beaters in the accuracy dept (IMO).
http://www.22ammo.com/federal.html In my experience a hunting, high velocity round that is hard to beat, is CCI Mini mags. For paper punching, you can pay trhe big bucks for Eurosnob ammo, but depending upon the day, rifle & shooter, CCI standards embarass the "high priced spread" just too often..
Aguila is building some awfully good ammo now days. Problem for me is It's not available locally and I have to grab what I can get at gun shows. Aguila subsonics will give fancy target ammo fits, and the woodchucks I have hit with their subsonic HPs inside a hundred yards went down as if hit with a high velocity HP, perhaps even better in some cases.
