Just one suggestion for shooting a thunder mug.
« on: April 14, 2009, 02:42:54 PM »
In a South Bend Replica catalog, it is recommended when shooting the thunder mugs, a shim of dirt/soil or other material be packed under one side of the base so the mug is tilted away from the person firing it.  This is done because the concussion is omni-directional.  Don't know how much of an angle would be appropriate.  I still have yet to fire off my Dominick thunder mug and with the temps this week to be in the 70's, I'm about ready to fire it up. :)

I don't have experience with thundermugs, but I would think that 70 degrees would work out ok.

Good suggestion.

Some angle where the thundermug is still stable.

We fire ours with fuse so we're not near it when it fires, no angles needed, once we light up, we're outta there.
