Real Customer Service
« on: October 01, 2009, 06:30:12 AM »
Yesterday about 2:45 I placed an order with MidwayUSA for 6-8 items, total about $50.  Even though I didn't ask or pay for any special expedited deliver, UPS dropped the shipment on my porch this AM at 11:30, UPS standard ground - 21 hours later.  Granted, it's only about 500mi. from MWUSA to here, but that's excellent service, from both MidwayUSA and UPS.  H&R/Remington could probably pick up a few CustSvc tips from either.

I have always had nothing but excellent service from Midwayusa. Prices are competitive, shipping time is great and I just got my birthday discount of 10%. We need more companies around like them.

I always have similar service with Midway.

Back in July I placed an order at about 4:30pm on a Weds figuring it'd be Friday when it'd be delivered.  ...well, I got home from my weekly commute the next day at about 2pm to be greeted with a package at my door.   Less than 21.5 hours from the time I clicked the purchase button at work 80 miles away from home to the time I saw it on my porch as I pulled into my driveway.

Repeat that again just 2 weeks ago.

I always get fast shipping from MidwayUSA also.

Me too. It always takes 3 days for me. Ordered my last one (10% discount) on Sunday PM they said it shipped Monday AM, but really did not leave until Monday PM. Arrived in Indianapolis Tuesday PM and arrived Wednesday PM on my birthday. It was in the delivery truck at 5:00 AM, but did not make it to my house until 6 PM, they always do this. I get about the same service out of Mid South Shooters supply. I consider both to be excellent and buy 90% of my stuff from Midway USA and MidSouth Shooters Supply which BTW is a GBO sponsor.

LaOtto222, Happy Birthday! Mine's next Thursday. What did you get me from Midwaysouth? :D I'm trying to decide what I deserve, and make an order. I've been trying to decide on a scope for too long. Just had about $1,700.00 in repairs. I could have got a couple fair scopes for. :'(

I spent too much - a little over $500. I got an RCBS case trimmer + extra clips for all the cases I have, Redding Brechrest 22 BR neck sizer, 300 Lapua 6 BR cases (to 22 BR), a couple hundred 22 Hornet cases, and a few .224 bushings. Adds up fast :o I wanted some more, but just had to stop :(

Real Customer Service shouldn't be so rare. :'(

LaOtto, Sounds like you got enough good stuff to keep you busy till next months order. :) You gonna K-Hornet all that brass. Sweet little gun. Is that BR stuff for a Handi or what?

I've been thinkin about a rangefinder myself but my grocery list is way too long now ;D I hope to make an order or two this weekend. ;)

I got an RCBS case trimmer...

That's what was in my order - case trimmers for .44, .357, and .45-70.  Stupid me, I didn't measure any of my brass before ordering.  I just assumed that I needed to trim since each has been reloaded several times.  I don't load hot, and as it turns out, all are below spec.

I bought a stainless Thompson Contender rifle barrel from them the other day.  I believe I placed the order on Wed afternoon and it was on my doorstep this morning with "standard" delivery....less than 48 hours!  Not only did the thing get here fast but I only paid $235 for a stainless 30-30 Thompson Contender barrel.  That's a steel!  (of course, it was on clearance)

I've never had anything bad to say about Midway, that's for sure.

Chas. I've never had to trim any pistol brass. It seems to split before it grows.
Your just gonna have to get a 223 or 22-250 if you don't already have them so you can use that new tool. ;D

Wish Midway would start fitting Handi barrels ::)

+1 on Midway and Midsouth.  I've gotten stuff from both RIGHT NOW.

bigvarmnt - Yep they are going to be 22K Hornets. I have 300 fire formed and 200 more will make 500. Got to have an ample supply when I go PD hunting. I got in 1000 34 grain Midsouth Varmint nightmare bullets, and I have primers and powder on hand. I should be able to do some shooting with that. I am building a 22 BR based on a Stevens 200 action. The barrel is ordered and should come in 2 - 6 more weeks. Unfortunately no body makes 22 BR cases any more so I had to go with 6mm BR and neck them down; then shorten them and turn necks down to .245" with bullet seated they will be .246" - .2465" for a .248" chamber neck. I have 400 (I ordered 100 earlier) altogether of the 6mm BR Lapua brass, I wanted 500, but they are pricey. Maybe I can add another 100 before next spring.  ;) I have some where around 1000 223 cases, but I need bullets for them. I have powder and primers for it. I shoot 40 grain V Max in that 223 gun and MidSouth and Midway are out of them. I have to wait for them to become available - more winter project.

LaOtto, I have a couple of regular Hornets and they are fun some times, uncooperative at other times. I hope to try the K sometime. You're not going to leave the Fireball here are you? I've read a little about the 22 BR and it seems it would be a very accurate and efficient cartridge. IIRC pretty fast also. I still need to try some of those 34 nightmares. I got 250 of the 30 gr Grenades but haven't did much with them yet. The 36 grners in my 223 S.L. took a couple yotes last year. No damage. I've read mixed reviews on them but it has been accurate & deadly so far. Shot placement is probably the key. I'm pretty much off for the winter so I'm gearing up also. I'm sure you've been to Whans there in town. Not too bad. I plan a return visit soon.
Sinclairs site says they have 40 vmaxs in stock. $17.80 100  $42.25 250. I'd call first to confirm or hold. New Haven is close and no shipping. They sell Lapua too. $81.20 a 100 is salty if in stock. It says buy 5 boxes and get a free Lapua reloading handbook. Don't know the prices @ Midway/south. Was going last week. I need to get some more 55 vmax moly for my 22-250. It likes em. Good Luck with your project.

I am about 30 miles North of Sinclair International. I have been there a few times. Their prices are a little steep on most things.

Here are a couple of groups with the 34 grain Varmint nightmares out of my Handi 22K Hornet the second one is soon after I get my barrel back and the first one is after around 400 or so shots down the tube. I get North of 3100 fps with this load.
