single action[knuckle buster] vs multiplier type reels
« on: May 23, 2009, 06:14:32 AM »
Single action reels are the typical rig on the west coast for salmon/halibut,but we tried a multiplier reel for halibut last week-I didn't like it at all.You just set the drag and reel in -can't feel the fish at all, whether its  coming in or running.Funny-single action reels seem to be the choice for the  west coast  and the great lakes fishery uses to use mulitpliers-han't seen a single action reel on any of the fishing shows.
