Got in about 35 miles
« on: March 22, 2009, 08:59:19 AM »
I cleaned up the Nightster today and rode about 35 miles on the beach mostly.  It was about 65 degrees and the water was an amazing emerald green with large white waves.  They finally got 399 punched back through to Pensacola.  Just a little nippy!

Nice, I wanted to go for a ride today, it's really nice out. My wife's car needs brakes though. >:(

72 degrees and sunny here. Rode the hiway for about 10 miles but the 40 mph wind gusts sucked so I hit the side roads and knocked out about 30 miles. A few more cold spells in the 30 s then the weather is going to warm up here. We went to a rally last weekend and was dang glad the OL hauled the camp trailer down it got to 34 the first night and 39 the second. Riding was  great on that saturday, sunny in the high 60's. Leather weather. ;D
We have a 305 mile run planned for next Saturday and we are sure crossing our fingers for good weather.

I haven't ridden in so long I forgot where the pedals on my bike are!   ::)  Next month will be a good one though.  Beside in-state rides we got runs to SC, AL and FL!   ;D  PAR-TAY!!

It's been nice here the last 4 or 5 days, but I'm trying to get over a chest cold that's about to kill me. ::) It makes sense. I've been healthy as a horse all winter and now the weather gets good and I get too sick to ride. Figures. :-[

Been nice here in the Okie state so we planned a late march 300 mile ride and thought it might be little cool but ok with leather. Well the bike gods took a dump on this ride. Expecting snow and ice with 40 mph wind gust. This is Oklahoma not Michigan where yall get this crap all the time. Probably set in the shop and make a new knife this weekend now and just look at the bike.  Oh by the way should be 70's all next week starting Monday what in the world.

Rained all day Friday and snowed all day Saturday but it is clear and going to be in the high 60's today the bike is going to get wrung out a little. I have officially declared the end of cold weather here so let it be said let it be done.  I have the leather out and ready for the afternoon.

I rode about 60 miles today after fishing all morning in shirt sleeves. I could not believe that an hour from here that we got two feet of snow yesterday. Okie weather is sucking but at least we can ride the next day. I'm fine now that I got to ride, just a little a stir crazy from last weeks crap.

With chain maintenance & engine oil change out of the way and one of those $38 stickers, I got a 350mile round trip in. It was just a bit cool with the sky being overcast & the temps being 60 to 65 but was nothing that the leather jacket over a T shirt couldn't handle. My routes are usually on the two lanes and I will let the bike run @ 59 to 60mph all day long. Mine is not so much getting to a destination but heading out into a general direction. Just so happened that yesterday's trip took me very near Terra Haute In so I was able to make a stop to visit my Daughter & 18month old grandson.
