When visually inspecting an older drilling how can you determine the 16ga is 2.75 vs 2.5 inches?
thanks

Take the barrels off.
If they are 2.5" you will see a 65 somewhere under the barrels.
If they are 2 .75 you will see a 70.
The 65 and 70 are mm.
if you need 2.5" shells give RST a call.
Great guys.  They load 2.5" shells for most ga and in a wide variety of loadings.

Any gunsmith should have a gauge to measure chamber length. Shotshell length is measured by the fired case with crimp unfolded. You can modify 2 3/4" shells for a 2 1/2 or 2 5/8" chamber by cutting off the crimp and glueing in a top wad.
The story of David & Goliath only demonstrates the superiority of ballistic projectiles over hand weapons, poor old Goliath never had a chance.
