Rossi Problem

Took my sons rossi 243 to the range to sight in and had trouble after firing opening the breach to eject th shell any suggestions will be appreciated.

Handloads or commercial loads?It may be that if you are shooting "hot" handloads there is too much pressure or else the case was not trimmed properly.I shot some military .223 in mine and found that it was hard opening but not so with the commercial loads.

factory loads was using monarchs couldny find any remington at the time

Make sure chamber and rounds free or all oil, lubricants and clean...............

Poncaguy has a good suggestion.  Believe it or not sometimes too much oil in the chamber can make a case stick.   Make sure the chamber is clean and dry.  If that does not remedy the problem try a different brand of ammo.  If the problem persist contact Rossi.

My Rossi .22-250 will do that also, I shoot Winchester and Federals. I got this rifle for CHRISTmas and iI have only been to the range two time so far. It's not the ammo. 8)

I've got the same problem with my Rossi 243 when using Winchester 100gr ammo.  The case is overpressurizing.  I confirmed that with measurements.  The case has swollen top to bottom.  Haven't had a problem with my reloads.  I'm using 75 gr V-Max bullets and a medium load.
