lonesome hen calls

bring in more than just Toms. Here's the results of my hunt Saturday. 23lbs, 9 1/2'' beard and 1 1/4'' spurrs.

Sunday afternoon I took the oldest boy out in the wind and the rain. Had two toms in a frenzy when they started to putt than just shut up and disappeared. 20 minutes later this big ol' buck 'yote came in lookin' for a easy meal. He got a face full of 5s instead. Got the toms to fire up again from a different spot, but darkness beat them in. We'll try again later in the season.

"where'd you get the gun....son?"
