Camo
« on: June 23, 2009, 01:25:16 PM »
Sort of a heads up for buying Camo.  Around here (Seattle area) the Thrift stores (Goodwill etc) all seem to have a good supply of Camo.  They are new, but have had patches put on and then taken off, I don't know where they came from but all the stores seem to have it, guess the goverment may be dumping it.  I got a complete set, pants and shirt in OD camo for $11.00 total, I will have to wash it because it is still new and stiff.  Take a look around if you are in the market.  All the places seem to have a selection, Desert, winter and OD.  Probably will not stay on the racks for long however.  Larry

Sounds like McChord and Ft Lewis just finished their conversion to ACU/ABUs and cleared out the old stock.

Last fall sometime I got another of S/Guide's flyer's that had Ghillie suits for $70.

Since one was claimed to be: Sage colored and scentless I ordered a set.

OHHHHHHH man did it ever stink of materials used.
Sent it back twice but, it was the same each time.
Finally gave up and while antelope hunting filled a trash bag full of fresh sage bud's & trimmings.
Stuffed the suit in with it over the winter hanging in the camp trl closet.
Now then, it smells like SAGE as it should.

Sure looks good to me. Though haven't been able to get out to use it yet.
I'm looking forward to when the time come's.

Evolution at work. Over two million years ago the genus Homo had small cranial capacity and thick skin to protect them from their environment. One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

How did you figure it out?  Guess because it was new, I even starched it and ironed in the creases, bought new bolwsing rubbers and shined my combat boots.  If it had been winter I would have had a hard time finding winter Camo, but I got lucky and they got married in July.  Larry
