OIF and OEF Veterans!
« on: October 15, 2009, 12:14:01 PM »
Fellow Veterans of OIF and OEF,
I just received this link today. Excerpt from website- "Through generous funding by the Military Family Outdoor Initiative Project, a joint partnership of The Sierra Club and The Sierra Club Foundation, The Anschutz Family Foundation, and The Disabled American Veterans we are offering fully underwritten Outward Bound programs to Veterans. This is a tremendous opportunity for adventure and self-discovery to our veterans of combat operations in Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom) and Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom). We have over 20 years of serving our nation's combat veterans through a long partnership with the Disabled American Veterans organization, where we have offered enriching wilderness expeditions specifically designed for war veterans at no cost to the participants."

Looks like a great opportunity for our nation's newest veterans.

Please let me know if any of you sign-up.  I would like to but have a busy life and new daughter to keep me even busier. :)

Enjoy, Dinny

No problem, it's the least I can do for other veterans.  If I didn't already have another trip planned next year, I would take full advantage and sign-up for one of their free adventures.  I want to make sure I have plenty of leave time for the planned trip. ;)

Thanks, Dinny

The list of camps is amazing: sailing the Maine coast, Florida Keys, kayaking Great Lakes, backpacking in Colorado, Oregon, dogsledding ... wow!
