Question for the experts
« on: April 14, 2009, 01:48:33 PM »
I have one of the plain jane Uberti Millennium 45LC clones.
Will any Colt parts interchange?
I'm especially interested in the hammer.

It would be doubtful.  For parts for Italian replicas goto www.vtigunparts.com.

Don't anyone else respond.  Lloyd has determined who should answer this question.

Your darn right cept you forgot to put a couple of the (cool) smileys behind that sentence. When it comes to Lloyd Smale my best advice to you would be to shut up and listen. Lloyd has never been a "my way or no way"
Type of guy but instead is very knowledgable and helpful on most anything you would want to know ranging from custom gun work to shooting & handloads.

Don't pay any attention to glanceblam Dan. He's president of the Lloyd Smale fanclub and therefore is very biased. ;D

Might be some nice benifits to that job GRIMJIM, making sure that Lloyd's guns are in good working order and all  ;D

Actually I had never defended Lloyd before not that he ever needed any defending...my post was just something that my fingers did by their self's ::)
I am sorry if I misinterpreted you post Dan.

Now can someone help Westbound out?

Darn!  Thanks for the support but I have to say that I actually have not swapped a hammer between Italian and Colt guns.  I know the bolt will interchange and the triggers.  I'd be tempted to try it.  The only problem I can see is that the timing might be off at the half cock so the cylinder does not line up with the loading gate quite as it should.  But I've had this same problem with factory Itialian single actions.  It's not a big deal to fix, but it takes a little knowledge of how it all works together.  As I said, I'd try it if you really want a Colt hammer on that gun, or maybe you just have quick access to a Colt hammer rather than order something.  That's the best I can say on the subject.  If you try it, let us know how it works out for you.  44 Man

I never thought of that. How do I sign up?

bluecow, I'm sure he just wants a differently shaped hammer. Or possibly a case hardened one instead of plain steel.

My posts are often "tongue-in-cheek," but I see no reason to use emoticons to express whether or not I'm joking or serious.  Emoticons are for idiots...er typewriter challenged, who don't know how to write a proper sentence.

I've also noticed, a lot of people use emoticons in an attempt to take the sting out of a written comment, when the language they use is simply going to sting anyway.  It seems a bit foolish.

Fair enough. Articulation can be tough (for me) but the emoticons do seem to help. The problem is that the Internet really does not have a face and it can be easy to misinterperate what has been said.

I did go back and read most of your post's and could see that you are not here to troll or cause trouble but instead have a lot of experience and are a valuable contributor. My first reply was just my bad
Judgement. I made it, or went off half cocked at the fingers, because I have known Lloyd for almost six years now. I guess that the old saying is true that blood is thicker than water even if it is just the GBO family.

I could have phrased my post better.  That's true of a lot of my posts.  But, truly, I'm in awe of the knowledge that can be found on all of these bulletin boards.

Actually, long ago, I compared a Colt SAA hammer with my Cimarron Model P because the half cock notch had broken off.  While I didn't take crucial measurements, they seemed to be nearly identical internally.

Best wishes.

Dan

I agree!   ;D  The average man's inability to grasp the fundamentals of the English language has always amazed me!   ::)  This is what is meant by the dumbing down of this country!   >:(  You may have noticed that I often revert to a baser form of vernacular just to insure my posts are understood by the members here!   :-[  But, in so doing I may be just adding to the problem...  :-\
