cut off a composite stock

I may have the need to cut off my encore composite buttstock. Anybody done it? Anybody know what's inside there? Please let me know!

I haven't seen the inside of a TC composit stock, but lots of them have a molded in rib top and bottom that is drilled and tapped for the buttplate/recoil pad.  If you remove the recoil pad you should be able to see.  If it has the ribs then all you have to do is redrill and tap, then put the holes in the right spots in the pad when you re-install and re-contour it.

I don't know about the Encore stock, but the factory TC Contender one is hollow inside. My smith had to build up the inside of mine to take the screws when he cut it down.

If you decide to go the wooden route, T/C makes a wooden bantam stock that is youth size.  All the work is done for you.
