Calling...Greeenriver

Is great to see you back posting again! Took me 12 days to realize this and I hope that you got by without too much pain & sickness on your 7 month layoff. Perhaps you have a good report for us?

I know about those good reports as it is a time thing. I will get my 1 year testing done next month. I am optimistic and apprehensive at the same time as the Colon cancer that I had took out a good friend with the same just a few years back. He ran clean during that first year but quickly developed tumors in the liver which were deemed inoperatable.

Frankly I hope that I never have to do Chemo again as it trashed my hands & feet nero/muscular wise. I am getting some sensitivity back into my finger tips but the second joint on my right thumb just won't work which eliminates quick follow up shots (un-necessary to an extent) with my SA revolvers. That joint does hurt now & again which I look at as being a good sign for partial or full recovery.

My life this year has been great on the whole as I can get around and do things again. Your group (at the clinic) was probably the same as mine as everyone seemed to be determined, courageous, and cheerfull in Attitude towards beating this disease. Wednesday's (remove the pump day) could be hilarious as we would toddle in like zombies with arms outstretched for balance and eye's open to mere slit's  ;D

On the whole, I think that they hit me pretty hard with chemo (the destroyer) and with the addition of new drugs (such as Eurbitux) knocked those bad cell's right out of me. It is great to be alive and I am enjoying the simple pleasures.

Yepper, it's good to be seen and heard again, last year I wouldn't have bet on it happening.

I got past the chemo and radiation with God's help, with some side effects, lots of bad days, and support from my friends and my faith in God.

The last months, Dec and Jan, were the worst, by then, the chemo and rad had had plenty of time to affect my entire body, the hair was gone, along with most of my strength, but the final tests were comming in better, and I held on to my determination to win the battle. Well, the hair is all back, what's left. Lost a few of the teeth all at once after the treatments affected them, but got enough to eat a good prime rib ocasionaly yet.

I was suposed to have a 2 month check up for 1 year after the last chemo treatment. Did 3 of them, Dr. told me to come back in 3 months and if that one still showed NO TRACE of cancer, next checkup would be in 6 months.

I'll see the Dr later this month for that 3 month checkup, and I very happy with the results so far.

The cancer will come back. The kind ons type I had will never be gone completly, but with the advances in chemo and other treatments, my Dr. is certian he can knock it back 2 to 5 or 6 years at a time, probibly for 4 or 5 times. I'm 60 years old now, that's a decent looking lifespan, to me.

Life is good.

Well, I had the 3 month check up a week or so ago, and it came back CLEAN again.  Going back  again in another 3 months to be sure, but it looks good so far.

Lloyd, I don't know if I could stand loosing all my loading and shooting stuff in a fire. Truthfuly, hearing your problems, and others on this and other forums makes my health problems seem small to me. In my case, either God will give me more time, of He will not. The decision is not up to me, but to God and that takes a lot of worry off me.

I guess it's just a matter of perspective, what's big to one may be a lessor thing to another.
