New GB Mortar
« on: April 23, 2009, 04:29:04 PM »
We got our new mortar.  A nice golf ball mortar from brooks.  I would like to thank Mike and JB from brooks for the nice job they did.  My daughter was thrilled.

Here are the pics.

Oh Frank it is already worse than that.  She is picking on her mom telling her that she is not part of the mortar club.

I may have to get one for the wife!!!!!!   ::)

The mortar will be fired tomorrow and I will post the pics.

Congratulations! You have a fine looking mortar, and an even better looking daughter. :)
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.

My daughter named her mortar and then christianed it with 50 gr of FFg and a Sponge Bob Square Pants golf ball.  She named her new mortar Wonder Woman (hey...don't aske me).

So below are some picks of WW, as I will call her, that we took this afternoon.

Here are a couple of my juice can mortar at work.

With the juice can mortar I get around 250 yards with 210 grains FFg and a 6.5 oz juice can full of portland cement.  The cement round balls go around 350 with the same load.

We went as high as 180 gr FFg with the Golf Ball mortar and couldn't really tell you range.  We lost site of them.  We had about 2 miles of clear field to fire in so distance was not a concern.

But did we ever have fun.

And whoever says those golf ball mortars from Brooks don't make enough noise needs to come out with me.  I think they bark nicely.
