I've got the 3/16" and it's okay until you get to that all important first/last 5-10 minutes of shooting light. However, once it gets to that dark it's kinda hard to see the pins unless you also have a light system on your sights. I've even got long fiber-optics on my sight but they aren't enough to make the difference if enough light doesn't get through the peep. I'm planning on getting the bigger one this year for hunting and I'll have to practice a little more to make up the lack of accuracy. I missed the opportunity at a couple of deer this year because the peep didn't let in enough light. I drew, but just couldn't see well enough to feel comfortable even though I could see them well enough just watching them. I will say that the blue color is better than the black ones for reflecting the light that does get through.
You only take one shot at a time, so don't waste it :cb2:

I have shot the G5 peeps for as long as they have been around and have never had one crush. I shoot the 1/4"

Both have their pros and cons, but one thing to consider is using the larger peep will affect your accuracy at further distances.  Just my 2 cents.

does light have to go through the peep, I am knew at this but isn't
the light on the pin or, the  fiber optic carry light to the pin, my peep is very close to my eye and very little light is going to get through it.
