Surely someone has bored out a 7mm STW to .338 or .358 by now. What kind of velocity did you end up with? This sounds like a simple rebore job that could lend new life to a burned out barrel. My rifle is the SS Rem Sendero with a 26" barrel. I would be thankful for any first hand info.

What would be the best rate of twist?

As for a 338, I'm not sure. But the 358 STA (Shooting Times Alaskan) has been with us for sometime. Also, not sure about production rifles, I didn't research any. If memory :roll: serves me right, the STA came out shortly after the STW.

I don't know why but I was thinking that the STA was a shorter case than the STW. Thanks for setting me right. And thank you for the info.

There's the 338-8mm Rem mag, which is going ot be about like hte 340 Weatherby.
More than the Win mag, less than the Ultra.
