Wal dang Mitch ya reckon that .300 mag is gonna be enough? Some of them PD are big and mean and might attack ya know.

I'll have .17 Fireball, .223 Remington (3 of those) and .22-250. If my dies get here in time and I get a decent load worked up I might also bring my NEF .25-20 Wayne York special custom barrel as well.

I know I had a 300WM one time that I had a smokin 110gr bullet load for that I would of liked to see hit one of them fury little friends in slo motion closeup video. I have seen the carnage of the 25/06 that makes a mess of them but so does a perfect center mass hit from a 22-250 SPLAAAAAAT. Kurt

the 300 win mag is a custom hart that i had made a long time ago win i first started shooting F class it will shoot in the .1's all day long with a 185 beger VLD and with a .549 BC the wind doesn't mess with it that bad. should be able to stretch it out a good ways

This is my first PD shoot so I really do not have long distance guns. I am going to have along a Ruger 77/17 and 2 - 223's. I hope that the one will be a consistent 400 yard gun, but the only proof is in the shooting. It is set up to run 40 grain V Max at just a touch over 3700 fps. I would be 4" high at 200 yd and 10.8" low at 400 - in theory.  I know if the wind is blowing real hard, I will just be a guessin' a lot. If I do another one, I more than likely will have some thing with a little more range to it. I have been thinking of a 204, 22-250 and maybe a 6mm BR or a 22 BR. I have a Remington 700 with a 221 Fireball barrel, but I do not see that it would benefit me much in OK. It works great around here, but I just do not get much long distance opportunities.
Great men have vision and resolve to make dreams come true.

Sometimes it takes a shot or two , but you can walk your shots in to hit those little suckers from a LOOOOOOONG ways away .  ;D besides that , most of the towns if you need to shoot much over 400 , you just drive the truck to a diffrent set up point .  ;)
