Types of rear sights FA made for the 83?

Did FA  make a rear sight using a ruger rear sight?

Yes, Dennis. The very early Field Grade guns used an aluminum adapter to accomodate a Ruger rear sight.

Ken,

Any chance you know the where about of one? I'm looking for an alternative to the Premium Express sight set I have for my 4 3/4" barrel.  Don't think I'll be keeping the Express sights.

No I don't. It may be possible to advertise & swap the express sights for a standard FA rear sight - either FG or PG - though. Just make sure that the square notch rear you're trading for is for an 83 and not a 97.
You can also contact FA for a current sight assembly. After all these years, I doubt that they would have a Ruger adapter still available in the shop, but who knows? The Ruger sights themselves are, of course readily available on the used or new market. If you find an adapter, I'll give you a Ruger sight.

  I may have one kicking around some were. I would also be more than happy to trade you for an express sight, just so happens that one of mine came up missing. I may not have the front, just the rear.

steve if dennis doesnt trade for it i have an 83 express sight set up id trade for a standard one. I dont need the front blade and you can have my express front.

 I tried to post a reply last night, but my internet was not working that great. Just one of the perks of living in the Alaska bush.

I tore my gun room apart the other day, and could not find the old field grade sight. I must have sold it with one of my Freedom Arms sales.
