Browning BLR in 260rem
« on: March 21, 2009, 07:23:36 PM »
Liking the 260 and the browning BLR rifles a few years ago I sent a pre 81 off to be re-barreled to 260 rem. Makes argueably the best deer rifle you could get. Well ballanced and plenty of power for the biggest game if you can shoot. It has become my favorite. Regards,

I have a BLR in 7mm-08 and absolutely love that little rifle. Doubt a deer would ever know the difference between the 7mm and the .260.

Did ya stay with the 20" barrel or change the length?  I have a 7mm-08 as well and really like it.  Didn't use anything else for 2 years for deer.  Have one in 358 Win setting on lay-away until I find some cases, dies or ammo.  Cabela's just opened a store here in Billings, MT and my oldest son works there, so got it for $675.00 instead of the $799.99 they had on it.  Only paid 575.00 new for the 7mm-08 about 5 years ago as it had a small scratch on the Butt-stock.  DP

I stayed with 20" on the barrel length. I did use a slightly heavier contour. Regards,

Who made the bbl?  Twist?  Accuracy/what loads/bullet choices?

Thanks.
