Have you guys seen the way they are trying it this year?
They have all the counties broken into parts!!!
I don't like it because i can't hunt all of luzurne.
BUT.....I do like it because I can now hunt Carbon, Schuylkill and other counties i coulndn't before.  Maybe this new way will grow on people.

I live in susquehanna county. im a little worried that there isnt enough tags because we got all theese guys/gals are comming to and from, but its not like you we can only hunt 5 that are there, unlike you where as you can hunt inmore than just where your from. But its kind of good(not really) because there is only a few counties comming to hunt here in 3C another bad thing is its extended to N.Y P.A state line :x

For me this will work out real good. In prior years I would have to have 2 doe tags for local hunting. One ifor Montgomery County and one for Bucks County. Now, the land that I can hunt is covered under one WMD.

I am looking forward to seeing how this new system works out.  It works out great for me because I live in southern Beaver county and split my hunting 50/50 between Beaver and Washington.  This year I don't have to send my antlerless app to one county and my bonus app to another.I will also be participating in the fall muzzleloader season and trying archery for the first time.  I hope to have the freezer full before it gets cold!

Doe tags? Boy are you guys lucky or what? We don't get any doe tags here in Bama.   Hey come to think of it we don't get any buck tags either.

However we do get to shoot a buck a day or two deer per day only one of which can be a buck from Oct. 15 to Jan. 31 using either bow or gun. Now in some places you can do this all gun season long and in some areas you get to shoot the two does or a buck and a doe for only 30 days or so.

Hmm, maybe you ain't so lucky after all. Maybe we are.    :-D  :D

When your deer are the size of greyhound dogs, they better not have tags and they should let you shoot a couple a deer a day ! After all, its takes about 4 of dem der greyhound dog deer to make up one of these northern deer ! :D

In Florida we only get SEVEN days to shoot does, and that's only if you have private property or lease.  Most WMA's only get either one day or ZERO days for does.  You see in Florida our wildlife managers, in their infinite wisdom, have determined that Florida doesn't have too many does, just not enough bucks.  No kidding, that was an actual response that I got from the FWC, verbatim!  No wonder Florida has the worst deer herd in the south!

Does anybody know why there seems to be a shortage of yellow envelopes?

I dont much care for the new doe tag zones. 3A covers way too much land for only 28,000 permits and we are right on the NY border. In this area its a matter of getting that doe app. in as soon as they become available or your SOL. I got mine but some others I know did not, what will really p me off is if I see any NYers with doe tags come hunting season when not every resident that applied in Pa is getting one.

I like the new system. In the past, getting a Lackawanna County Tag with only 3,000 available it was hit and miss.  Now with over 50,000 tags for area 3D this year I got two (First and Second Drawings). Plus, now I can hunt in Wayne, Monroe and Pike Counties. Win Win for me!

Whitefeather,

Sorry it took me so long to answer you.  I live west of the city, just about on the Ohio Border.  I work in bethel park and spend quite a bit of time in point breeze.
