I have a Dan Wesson Bobtail Commander in 10mm that needs a new recoil spring. I don't know if I did it while cleaning or shooting, but the original spring developed a slight bend to it. I noticed it when clearing the pistol after some range time. The slide came back about 75%, and then I could feel a slight resistance as the spring caught on the guide rod, then slipped over. When I got home I stripped the gun and noticed a very slight bend to the spring. While I'm no 1911 expert, I assumed that this was the culprit.
I can't find the specs on the spring weight, and CZ isn't open to ask at the moment. I was thinking that either an 18 or 20# Wolf replacement would do the trick, but I thought I'd get a few other opinions. I thought that 18# was pretty standard for a 45, but I don't know about the 10mm. So what do you all think?
