Browning T Bolt .22
« on: May 17, 2009, 11:07:18 AM »
My son-in-law bought a SS Browning T Bolt .22 today at a gunshow.  The gun is beautiful, the barrel is factory floated, and it shoots like a dream.  The magazine is made of very thin plastic and would appear to be the weak link of the whole setup.  Does anyone have any experience with these mags that can tell me how they hold up?  Does anyone know of any 2nd party designs that are better for this gun?

thanks

Have you called Browning about the possibility of a problem?  What did they say?

Howdy,
I'm not really sure why Browning felt that a redesign of the magazine was necessary. The origional five-round clip wasn't sexy like the Ruger rotary, I guess. I'm not so sure the new T-Bolt is any kind of improvement over the original, but for the use of NON-salt-impregnated wood stocks. $720 is a LOT to pay for a .22 with a funky magazine.
