T/C Twist Rates: New Englander, White Mtn Carbine, etc.
« on: May 28, 2009, 12:55:36 PM »
Hi,
I know the Hawkins are 1:48, but didn't these other models come with a different twist rate?
I'm looking for a used 50 cal for hunting.
I've got a bunch of round balls but sold my only slow twist barrel.
So, i'm just wondering what twist rate these are, and also, what are most people shooting from these?
Sabots? Conicals?
Thanks!

The 1:48 will shoot roundballs just fine.  As far as I know the New Englander, & White Mtn Carbine were both 1:48.

WMC nds how old, early were 1/20, later 1/38, & some where in between I think 1/48.  If you call with the serial # they will tell you what you have.  Mike
