Barnes Bullets for 45ACP
« on: May 28, 2009, 10:49:24 AM »
My hunting buddy wants me to load him some 185 Grain Barnes solid copper bullets for his Kimber 45ACP.  I pulled the reload data off the Barnes website and they recommend either Silhouette or Longshot for the powder.  Anybody have experience loading these copper bullets?  Looking for any tips or thoughts as I usually just load cast lead for plinking.  At a $1 a bullet I don't want to screw up my friend's purchase.  He also came up with brand new brass for this deal and all I have every reloaded is range brass.  I am loading with a Dillon 550 with the dillon dies.

thanks

Although I don't load for anyone else, for a number of reasons. Not the least of which is liability. Loading the Barnes bullets would only require a powder measure adjustment to throw the recommended charge, and perhaps an adjustment in seating depth.
