45LC Data
« on: May 31, 2009, 05:13:29 AM »
Well I got my loading area cleaned up yesterday
and another bench in place with the presses clamped
so I can try out the new lay out.
Anyway, a friend has been asking me to load him some 45 Colts
for his rifle since he can not find any Ammo and though I
would run him 20 light loads to get a feel for the bench.
I really only have some Laredo 200gr bullets to work with.
Anyone have a recipe to try with them?
Again, it will be a light start load maybe 5 each by .2
Thanks
Mike

What powders do you have to work with ?

TrailBoss , Unique , Titegroup and 700X all will work great with cast bullets . With TB or Unique being the first ones to use if you have them .

Have Unique and 700X
Would not hurt my feelings to much
to burn up the 700X and save the unique ;)
I know a 200gr is not real popular
but he just wants to shoot and thats what I have.
Thats the problem, finding 200 cast info.

Hodgdon's web site has data for about 10 diffrent powders and the 200g cast , Alliant lists data for Bullseye , Green Dot , Red Dot and Unique , using the 200g cast also .

A lot of people overlook the 200's , their a real good plunking bullet and also work great for CBA shooting .
