Just my $0.02 - Zero diff, in a scout setup; big difference, scoped conventionally.
BTW - I just bought a new BrazTech/Rossi M92 Puma .357 16", and found four D/T'd holes hiding under it's rear sight longleaf, presumably a factory prep on all the .357 barrels for the scout setup.
I just installed filler plug screws, since I removed the rear barrel sight for peeping - but woulda rather the factory hadn'ta done that.
So........... You can buy a Rossi set up for a scout scope from the factory, but besides tagging for more $$$$, an 1894 Marlin will incur extra cost for a LeverScout mount, fitting (if it's not self-done), and a peep to replace the rear barrel sight.
