Turkeys bunching already!
« on: March 02, 2012, 03:39:54 PM »
Three times in three places this week I have seen a big Jake with a bunch of hens.  Now turkey season is a while away.  Same thing last year.

There seems to be a problem reconciling season dates with the animals.  Maybe we could post some calendars in the woods?

Even though I saw plenty of hens around our feeders during deer season I still feel like numbers are down.   :-\   Didn't see much of any turkey sign this weekend.   :(   I think we got a ser-ous dog, coon and coyote problem...

Season opens the 24th but I don't know if I'll be able to get out 'till the 31st...  :'(

Turkey  season  should   be  moved  back   until   all   gobbler  groups   break up  . I  know  of  hunters  taking   multible  birds  on  one   hunt.  Here   in  central   bama   the  season  was  moved  up   2  weeks   from  where  it   was  a  few  years   ago.

Maybe those calendars are posted out thar in the woods and that's how the turkey's know to avoid hunters. I bet those sneeky anti hunter bunny huggers did it.

Sounds good to me.  If I don't get a bird, I'll quote you on it.
