Take the time to say THANKS!
« on: May 23, 2009, 05:42:42 PM »
Here we are again.
It is that time of year when almost all of us fire up the grill, call some old friends and have a great time at our cookouts all over this great country on Memorial Day weekend.
My family can be counted in this bunch of fine folks who enjoy the warmth and comfort of a few good friends and some really great food to share with each other.
There is one more thing we need to do also, and that is to take the time to say thanks first to GOD for our life here on earth but also to say thanks to all the brave men & women who have served & are serving in our military.
They are the ones that this weekend is really all about.
Some are gone, (Thank you for your service).
Some are still with us in different stages of their lives, (again Thank you for your service).
Then there are the ones who are serving now.
You are the one who are protecting us at this very minute.
You are the ones we depend on to keep us safe.
You are the ones that make it possible for us to enjoy this holiday while you are so far from home.
Tomorrow, SUNDAY, MEMORIAL DAY, while sharing a good meal and the friendship of others I will take a moment of time and say THANKS to all who have and are serving in our military.
May GOD be with you and keep each and every one of you safe.
In JESUS name we pray, AMEM!!!

Thank you to all that have served and are serving. I'm deeply indebted to all.

Father, we could never thank our military men and women enough for their courageous service and sacrifice to our country and its people. Today we lift up our voices to express gratefulness and honor to these military troops both from the past and present. For many have given up their tomorrows so that we could have ours. Show us ways in our communities, churches, and families to thank and love them. Keep and protect these heroes and their families. Lord we pray that You will be our servicemen and women’s refuge and strength, and that your peace will guard their hearts and minds.
In the name of Jesus Amen.

Belated obituary for a great American:

                    Ed Freeman

You’re an 19 year old kid. You’re critically wounded, and dying in the jungle in the Ia Drang Valley , 11-14-1965, LZ X-ray, Vietnam . Your infantry unit is outnumbered 8–1, and the enemy fire is so intense, from 100 or 200 yards away, that your own Infantry Commander has ordered the MediVac helicopters to stop coming in.

You’re lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns, and you know you’re not getting out. Your family is half way around the world—12,000 miles away—and you’ll never see them again. As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day.

Then, over the machine gun noise, you faintly hear that sound of helicopter, and you look up to see an un-armed Huey, but it doesn't seem real, because no Medi-Vac markings are on it.

Ed Freeman is coming for you. He’s not Medi-Vac, so it’s not his job, but he’s flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire, after the Medi-Vacs were ordered not to come.

                    He’s coming anyway.

And he drops it in, and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load 2 or 3 of you on board.

Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire, to the doctors and nurses.

And, he kept coming back…13 more times…and took about 30 of you and your buddies out, who would never have gotten out.

Medal of Honor Recipient, Ed Freeman, died Wednesday, March 25th, 2009 at the age of 80, in Boise, ID…May God rest his soul.

                    Medal of Honor Winner

                    Ed Freeman!

THANKS AGAIN ED FOR WHAT YOU DID FOR OUR COUNTRY.

                    RIP
