91 Chevy 4X4
« on: June 20, 2009, 02:35:47 AM »
My son's first vehicle, got a 1991 chevy siverado step side pickup. Has a carborated, not feul injected, 305 V8, which this old man really likes! and a 4 speed automatic overdrive trans. I know its a kinda of an oldie, but its what  was affordable. Great shape needs only a little body work, runs like a bear! Frame is solid as a rock. Here's the big question? Do any of you know what that transmission is? I had an old blazer, it had a 400 turbo trans in it. Thanks for reply's. scout4<><

in  91  1/2 ton the trans should be a 700r4 BUT the engine should also be fuel injected as well.

I've seen a couple carberated trucks on this body style but those were all 3/4 ton early model 88's. Newer than that they ALL should be fuel injected.

You sure you're not mistaking the TBI setup for a carburetor? To find out where do the fuel lines go in? In the front of the unit with a single line or the rear with two.
