Advertisement for a Mossberg lever action?
« on: May 31, 2009, 10:24:28 AM »
I have a lovely Marlin 336 in 30-30 and would never get rid of it.

In looking at the Sunday newspaper adds the past few weeks I see some advertising for a Mossberg 30-30 lever action.  I didn't know Mossberg made level actions.   Whlle I love my Mossberg Model 500 pump shotgun, if I were to ever buy another lever action 30-30 rifle, it would likely be a Marin 336.... but I am curious.

Anyone know anything about the Mossberg level actions or have experience with one?  How smooth/strong are they and what about their accuracy compared to say a Marlin 336?  Is the Mossberg lever action some Chinese built rifle with a Mossberg name only?

Thanks

Are you reading newspapers from last year ?  ;)

The newest/latest Mossberg levergun (they also made one in the 1970's) was introduced last Summer.

It's made in USA, has a round bolt, is D/T'd on top for a scope mount(s) - and a couple of GBO members have them.

There are a few more members of other forums that also have bought one, and all that have seem to like them.

Curiously, none of it's detractors seem to have bought or tried one, though.

Flex your google-foo, for more info.
