Teacher called me at work today.....

She said, "I spend a lot of time telling the students to be quiet, get their work done, behave, etc. And I just want you to know that I'm NOT directing it at your son.  I am sorry that he has to hear that over and over because he is such a great kid." 
What a nice call and the pit in my stomach didn't take long to go away.

Just thought I'd share some good news as it seems so many posts in this section are a downer.

Heck yes, that's nice to hear a positive report once in awhile. Congrats, it sounds like your little guy is a fine young man.

Always makes a parent proud to hear someone praise their child on a fine upbringing.
I am sure he will make a fine adult one day!

Snapcrackpop.... That's terrific.  It doesn't take a teacher long to figure out which kids have good parents who teach their kids the meaning of discipline and respect at home.  Good job.

Then please allow me to do a little bragging on my 10 year old daughter.  Angel is a straight a student.  Her EOG scores last year (third grade) scored higher than 99% of all 3rd graders in North Carolina.  We are waiting for the results of this years EOGs.  She participated in the National Young Scholar program held at Wake Forest University last summer and is returning again this summer.  She is also participating in Duke Universities TIP program.  But she is not just a book worm she also loves to play soccer and basketball.  She has played rec. league soccer both spring and fall seasons since 1st grade and played basketball for the first time this past winter.  Although she does well in soccer I think she is going to really excel in basketball.  Even though it was her first season her coach has already started grooming her to play point guard and in fact she did play PG in the final game of the season and we won.   

Sorry to steal your thread Snapcrackpop but I am just so proud of my girl as I'm sure you are of your boy, and rightfully so.  Keep up the good work.  As Heather said they are the hope of the future.   ;D

I've really got 2 awesome boys and they both enjoy the out-of-doors with their Dad.


The older one really amazes me with his helpful, polite and honest attitued.  The younger one is always happy and silly, except when he's bored or out of snacks!
