How many of you belong to a Bass Club?

What's your club's name?  How many tournaments do you fish in a Year?  Tell us a little about your club.

I belong to Bassin' Baptist out of Corbin, KY.  We fish 12 tournaments a year in Kentucky and Tennessee, generally more in Tennessee than Kentucky.  The club started in 1987 as the Tri County Bass Club began to fold up.  We have about 50 members and average 16 or so boats per tournament.

I like Corbin KY. Good 4 wheelin' thereabouts! I don't currently belong to a club, but have considered it for some time. I like the fact that you are among friends and if something goes wrong and you find yourself in a jam you can count on other people, or be depended upon yourself. Where do I look? I fish alot at Center Hilll, Dale Hollow and Tim's Ford. Maybe I could start my own club. The Bassin' Lutherans, We could turn our nose up at everyone else and make the fish feel guilty and ashamed for not biting. :-D .

Our club was started by a group from Central Baptist Church, but we do have several guys who fish it from other churches and other denominations.  I don't go to Central Baptist, but to another Baptist Church.  We even have a Church Challenge Tournament each year that has a rotating trophy that goes to the church team with the most points.

There are clubs all over.  Most towns have one, there's 3 around here.  Bassin' Baptist is the oldest of the 3, and some guys fish more than 1 club.  For lack of time I don't, I choose 1 and fish it.  BB is a pretty serious bunch when it comes to fishing.  I've fished with some church outings other places, and this is more on the level of a BASS type club.  We have applied for BASS membership in the past, but the club was turned down because at the time we didn't have a penalty for dead fish.  We had decided not to so that we wouldn't be pennalizing guys who have older boats that don't have as capable of livewells in them.  Since that time, we have went to a paper tournament system, so the dead fish are a non-issue now.  We just haven't re-applied for other reasons.
