Freedom Arms Pricing
« on: May 26, 2009, 04:21:04 AM »
Are the prices on FA's website merely their MSRP, or are they real-world prices?  I'm really bummed they don't offer the 83 in 22lr with a 7.5" barrel as a standard lenght.  Someday I WILL own a Freedom Arms!!

The are merely MSRP BUT their dealer discount pricing just doesn't leave much room for lower prices to the buyer. If you get $100-$150 off MSRP you got a good deal. The dealer didn't make much profit.

MSRP only. The FTC stopped manufacturers from controlling retail prices many years ago. I'll have to check the current catalog, but the Mdl. 83 / 252 was available as the "Varmint Special" with a 7 1/2 " barrel for many years. I've had one since the early-mid 90's. I'm sure you could order one in that length. The .22 83 is a heavy bugger, though. I suggest that you also consider the Mdl. 97.

I was always astounded by how much cheaper GB seemed to be able to get FAs in his locale. Now it seems pricing down south has caught up with the rest of the US.

The guy I was getting them from sold out the business and the new guy doesn't give me near the same deals he did. Steve usually sold them to me at cost or $50 over cost. He sold to others I sent there at $50 to $100 over cost.
