Hello folks.Right after Christmas I bought a Ruger Mini 30.Ihad done a good bit of research on these little rifles, about how inaccurate they are mainly.I had read several post on the new ones and how much improved they are over the old ones and that handloads would really help them out.Well about this same time I get the Grafs flyer in the mail and they have the new Hornady 150gr sst advertised.Theys say they are great for .303 and 762x39.Well I bought some now I'm not so sure about these bullets.Once I load these I'm not so sure these will fit in the mag and feed from it.Now this is from eyeing where the cannalure is on the new bullets and where the factory bullets are crimped. This may not be a problem because I have read that the Mini 30 has alot of lead in the throat area.I may just load these bullets by hand into the chamber and then use handloaded Rem 123gr psp in the mag.The reason I bought these is for the heavier grain weight and that they are supposedly a better bullet.I have read that some of these bullets have a hard time opening at the slower speeds these bullets travel at.Supposedly ballistic tips open pretty well at slower speeds,is this bullet basically a ballistic tip? Were these bullets built for bolt actions where you can get more speed out of them so they open better?I'm going to use H4198 and Rl7 to load these, from what I understand shuld be able to get 2000 to 2200 fps with these powders. What do ya'll think does any of this sound right,I will be using this to hunt deer and pigs under a 100yds?
