Does anyone know if Buckshot is considered "Chilled" shot?

Chilled shot is the softest, usually running about 2% antimony or less. Small diameter chilled shot is cheap, and that is what you can expect in promotional dove or "universal loads" in the boxes with birdies and duckies on them.

I thought the cheap dove loads were the soft stuff. Chilled shot was one step up from that?
That might have been the wrong way to ask about the buckshot. I guess what I'm really asking is, just how soft is it?
If I cast some .32 cal RB's like I was going to shoot them from my ML and loaded them in some shotshells instead would I be better off to use wheel weights or dead soft lead?

Rusty, I would use wheelweights, but most buckshot is softer. Regards,

Rusty I bought some RB .32 from a gent on here to use for shot shell loads they seem to be pretty soft as they score easily with fingernail but I haven't gotten to use them yet so I got no report but I could send you a handful to try before you get to casting if you would like. Kurt

Thanks Kurt, but I have plenty of RB's for a few muzzleloaders I have around. I've also been shooting .310's out of my .30-30 which works pretty well too.
