My PF9 mag only takes 6 rounds
« on: August 03, 2009, 01:57:14 AM »
Anyone else have trouble getting 7 in?  Feels like a hard stop to me and I hate to break it.  Should it be that tight? ???
Thanks

Of the three mags I have, two of them, took a lot of force at first.I just keep loading them with as many as they would hold, and they finally lossened up.  hth    Doug

Wouldn't hurt to disassemble the magazine and check it for burrs and cleanliness. If all is well just stuff in that 7th round!

Thanks guys.  Keltec CS told me to take it apart, clean and lube it as well.

Use a good dry lube inside the magazine tube. Anything else attracts crud. Make sure the follower has no rough edges or flashing as well.

When I took it apart the spring was not captured in the recess at the bottom of the follower.  Simple fix, hold the spring upright, drop the follower on it, lower the mag case on so the spring stays in the follower while you slide the bottom finger guard or std cap in place.  The extra inch made a world of difference, now it loads 7 the way I'd expect it to.   ;)
