Of driver’s cards, insurance and in-state tuitionBy Al SwiftOn Saturday, the Wisconsin Assembly approved driver cards for illegal immigrants in its state budget bill. They also voted to increase car insurance requirements, which will undoubtedly result in higher premiums.I guess the thinking is, with drivers cards, our guests will be safer when out and about enjoying the many benefits our state has to offer them — possibly driving to college, now that they’ll be getting in-state tuition, also compliments of the Democratic Party. But if they should run into you and are not insured, our legislators want to make sure you carry enough coverage. How thoughtful. You may want to call and thank your state Reps. Jennifer Shilling, Chris Danou, and Mark Radcliffe, or even the governor himself.
