I've been using Front Line on our dog. But I see similar products at the department stores for a lot less money. Is there a good, less expensive, alternative to Front Line?  Thanks.

our vet has told us that the front line dog tick/flea treatment used long term can cause liver and kidney failure, I found a few things on line about it, and nothing that 100% confirms it but I would take it seriously though....

Fox have been observed to get cornsilk or even a piece of tree bark in their mouth then back slowly into a body of water to their nose tip then duck under and swim away from this media which is usually teaming with fleas. Perhaps a dog could be trained to do this ;)
