New PT99
« on: June 29, 2009, 04:59:05 AM »
Picked up a Taurus PT99 Saturday from the local gun shop.
Stainless finish with screw adjustable rear site and a mounting rail under the front.
A real nice looking smooth shooting gun. Even more pleasant to shoot than my wife's SIG mosquito.

Put 100 rounds of Blazer ammo threw it Saturday night.
NO PROBLEMS AT ALL!

I think I will be enjoying this gun for many years to come.

Got a 92 which is the same gun with fixed sights. Wish I had bought the 99. Adding an adjustable rear sight is expensive. Other than shooting a little low at 25 yards it is great. Never had a missfire, ftf, or stovepipe. Only thing is stuffing those 17 rounds in the clip is rough on my thumbs. I need to get one of those gadgets from Dillon or Cabela's that makes loading easy.

Probably the only Taurus I would consider buying.  Such a good, dependable design it's hard for even Taurus to screw it up!

I've owned 2 of their revolvers, one older model that was good, one newer model that was junk which seems to be about the norm for their wheelguns.

Glad you like it and hope it gives you good service.

I had noticed that.
Plus the dang things are always empty.

Another thing no more cheap ammo in Enid OK.
All they had was over $1 a shot.
got some ordered from Midsouth though. ;D

Blazer ammo, now that is a name out of the past!  Haven't seen that stuff for quite awhile, must be some ammo you had when G.W. Bush was president.

It was a new case the dealer had just got in and opened.

I did have one FTF yesterday.
The primer had a healthy dent so I'm not blaming the gun.
