eye relief problem
« on: September 23, 2003, 01:15:41 PM »
I have Bushnell 4200 4-16x mounted on a Ruger No 1. Nice scope but because of Ruger's mounts I have to really creep forward on the stock to get the scope in focus. I can't move the scope back because its already set against the adjustment knobs. So may be in the market for another scope that either has a longer tube on it or better eye relief. Any suggestion? I only use this rifle to kill targets so could even go to higher magnification.

I believe there are extension rings for a Ruger that would allow you to set the scope back. Dave

Have you tried adjusting the rear optic (screw it in or out more)? Sometimes you have just enough.

That scope has a 3.6" eye relief (I know since I have 2 of them), so I don't think that you could do much better in that department.  As stated, your best other option is get extension rings.

Thank, I wasn't aware that there were extension rings so that sounds like my best choice.
