Hello from SW IL
« on: May 29, 2009, 03:13:49 AM »
Hello everyone,
I've been roaming around the forum for a short while and today wandered into this post.  I am a AD Army Medic and currently deployed.  My home station is Scott AFB, IL.  I live about 20 miles East of St.Louis.  My parents ans siblings reside in Southern Indiana near New Albany and that's where I call Home. My wife is pregnant with our first child, a girl. I have a strong feeling that my life is going to change drastically in about 4 months when she delivers. I am looking very forward to that day. I really enjoy learning, trading, buying and selling with everyone here. I am interested in meeting other members, I would love to get some "in person" Handi advice and education.

Take care, Dinny

Thank you for your service. God bless you and your family.I was at the E-club at Scott AFB, last year for a wedding reception.Great club.My wife and I enjoyed  it immensely.I live in North Florida and was forced to retire a few months ago.I was a computer field engineer for many years and worked all over the planet. What I lived for was always hunting and fishing, hiking, camping, photography and just roaming in the woods.I hunt with every thing except rocks and fish for everything from bluegills to blue marlin.Good Luck in the sandbox. My son was there with the 3rd infantry division. He also hunts and fishes for everything.Just got his USCG Captains license. He guides in Tampa and I guide in Cross Creek, FL.

Good Luck

Mad Dog Marine,
Thanks!  Your gratitude is greatly appreciated.  In 2003, I followed just 2-3 days behind 3rd ID.  I met another soldier almost 4 years later that was in the exact unit I followed behind. I have, just as so many others do, some very fond memories of the war.  Some not so fond too. I have never been to Florida, I would love someday to come down and fish there.  I just can't imagine how much fun it must be.

Take care and be safe in your adventures,

Dinny

Ma'am,
Thanks for the cordial welcome.  I am addicted to this website.  I'm here in Afganistan writing this today.  Not even a deployment can keep me away ;)

Thanks, Dinny

JayAK,
Great to hear from my neighbors.  I love the Carbondale area, probably will go to school down there when the time comes.  How do you like being a member at BSR?  I don't care for that store at all, but to each their own. Any good places to hunt down there?

Take care, Dinny
