parts for old german drilling
« on: August 08, 2009, 12:09:08 PM »
i have a friend who inherited a german drilling his grandfather brought home from WW2 .

16ga./16ga.x 9.3x72R with hammers . i think it was by sauer .

it is missing the firing pins and a few minor screws .

is there any source for these parts or are they going to have to be custom made ?

would the 16 ga. chambers have been 2 1/2" or 2 9/16" ?

If you find the exact make and model and if you can't get the parts in US, PM me.  I can try to find stuff in Germany.  Sort of hard to get parts since only licensed gunsmiths are allowed to work on guns here in Germany.

If someone "gave" me a firearm as nice as that, i'd pay to have it cleaned, checked and repaired.  Then i'd keep it the rest of my life!

I'm thinking you will AT LEAST have to have the parts fit to this gun, "if" you ever find them, and also the gun NEEDS to be checked over by someone who KNOWS this type of gun.

I've had this place do some work for me,  http://www.champlinarms.com/  and their smith, "JJ" can make or fit what ever parts that gun needs...  He isn't fast or cheap, but at least he does what he says he will do, and turns out quality work...
