That mug's lookin' good, Terry; and finished just in time to celebrate the day most befitting it's purpose.:D
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.

Yes, that's why I went ahead and painted it as-is. I wanted it to look presentable for this afternoon.

The paint hides most of the blemishes that I will remove later.

The paint itself isn't perfect. There are a couple of places where I had to wipe away some minor runs and trash that blew on it while wet. Another coat after it's cleaned and dried will hide some of that.

Thanks for the Kewpie.

Sorry I didn't get motivated and build an entry for the firecracker cannon contest. I haven't wanted to whine but there have been some more health problems and another hospital stay. Looking more and more like the liver transplant may become a reality. Work is taking a lot more out of me lately, too, not much left at the end of the day.

But today I feel fine and there's powder to burn!
