.22mag ultra
« on: June 28, 2009, 07:11:32 AM »
Alright guys I found one and thought about adding it to my arsenol.  Price was over 200 but I think these guns have been discontinued.  I don't like the full bulls that the sportsters have, this barrel while heavy is not too bad.  So, how is the accuracy at say 50 and 100yds.  I know a 22mag won't drive tacks but group size appreciated.  Gun looks like new.

Thanks Kirby

Over $200 is a bit more than I would pay, but each his own and value of such.

My 22mag is awesome, Marlin though ;D, had it sense I was a kid and still pop'n rabbits and groundhogs out of the garden today 8) Nothing wrong with a 22mag within it's merits...

I picked up a new one about 3 months ago for $195 OTD. In hindsight I probably would have paid more, well-balanced and it is a lot of fun to shoot. It has dumped a few rabbits already without a lot of fine tuning, so I guess for now mine is Minute Of Rabbit. Has a little 2-7x32 muzzleloader scope on it that works great.

At the risk of sounding stupid, what is the difference between a Ultra & a Sportser? Does the Ultra have iron sights? I would like a .22 mag to go with my single six. Had a Savage-Ansultz back in the '70 and it was the most accurate rimfire i ever fired. The only reason i sold it was the original owner want it back.

The 22mag Ultra Varmint has a checkered cinnamon laminated stock set and 22" bull barrel.
