Parmamoon,

Thanks for posting the photo album, I really admire your ingenuity when it comes to shaping both metal, and wood. I think you did an all round excellent job in fashioning the naval carriage, carriage hardware, and the block & tackle.
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The one thing that you can almost always rely on research leading to, is more research.

scottish cast iron , UUURRKKKK  so ugly   ;D
when you have the beautiful Mons Meg   ::)

but I can see lots of barrels in your collection that  NOT  are made of iron  ;D
even you highlanders have some style some times  ;)

bronze is beautiful , but ok making stills from the copper aint any bad idea either  ;D see my avatar
just as I know you love the beauty of a bronze cannon so much I must show you a real cannon ,
now you probably come and throw haggis on me  :'(

Mr president I do not cling to either my gun or my Bible.... my gun is holstered on my side so I may carry my Bible and quote from it!

Dan, that is a beautiful cannon. Do you know if it shot a single bar type projectile, multiple shot, or maybe something else?

there is many questions and thoughts when people see this gun

ok gary , we have a special fermented fish , it smells like hell ,
but haggis and surströmming would destroy all northern europe if we used them for ammo .

it shoots 3 single halfpounder balls without any connection between them

i had to look surströmming up .....jezz louise  :D.....

have you ever had the thing / stuff ? they suggested onions potatos and a flattonbred (sp)..

it would be bad to shoot it in a cannon .

You snake Dan,you know I will have to go chase information on that beautifull barrel. Is why I put out Public Safety alert about you,as with we Scots a big part of your heritage is with the fishing, and don't you just know where to drop the bait.
Be carefull Rocklock !!!!!!!!!!!!!!  the Messiah of mortars , the disciple of ugly guns is once again on the prowl for converts.Damn Swede has so much good information and pretty pictures he should have a health warning next to his name.
Now then Rocklock if you really want to look at real guns.........maybe I could interest you in the Tsar of tubes , the Duke of destruction ,the much overlooked and under researched Carronade.I am no expert on them but get a boost when other people take an interest and go looking deeper for information to share and this way learn more myself.I just like them.
Dan,do you think this barrel you show could have been rigged for chain shot?
photo is from Fort George North Scotland, boy do we have some ugly guns and it has that green bed Seacoast was talking about.
Scottish by birth and by heart.
