Welcome :D  :D    There are some suppliers in Kansas but for the life of me I forget where.  Now old Boggy has a trapping supply business and he supports this forum (see the banner on the top of the screen) he'll take good care of you.

Come on back, visit and ask questions if you got any.

I thought Kansas had a fairly strong trapper's association or two as well. Maybe contacting a member if you are not one yourself would point you in the direction of local suppliers for you.
Otherwise, online ordering does work well if purchased from reputable suppliers. Recommendations from others such as the prior replies to your question are good testimony.
I myself have been ordering for several years from several different suppliers and have had very good service from each. it works!

Thanks all for the info.  Really looking forward to getting this going.  I just started trapping, but have been hunting since I was 9 and thought trapping would be a great new challenge for me.  I do belong to the NAHC (North Amercian Hunting Club) as a life member, and read a couple of articles in there about trappers and the sport, and that's what lead me here in a round about way.  Well, hopefully will be talking to you all a little more, and I am sure I will have more questions to ask, if you all don't mind a newbie doing so.   Thanks again for the help, and happy hunting to you all.  Getting close to bow season for deer here, and man am I ever ready!!

Just wanted to say thanks again.  I am sure I will be back to ask more questions, esp. if I can't already find the answer here somewhere in past posts.  I get the feeling there are a lot of good people here, and feel at "home" when I am reading posts.  It's nice to see and hear that hunters form all over can help each other, and that helps to pass it down!!  Keep it up and thanks again for helping me.  I am setting out on my first "trapping" hunt in two weeks and will let you all know how things go, and I am sure once I get bacK I will be full of questions.

Greywolf, welcome to Graybeards and to the trapping fraternity.Questions are always welcome. I saw that you were planning a Trapping -hunt in 2 weeks. You may want to wait longer on the furbearers if you are planning on selling the fur. Primeness of fur is a major factor, and early october fur is nowhere near prime.   Tom

Greywolf: whereabouts in Kansas are you located? I am not too far from the Northern border of your state. I can shoot down hwy #77 from my little town and be at the border within 45 minutes. I'm just North of Beatrice, NE or better landmark may be I am just south of Lincoln.

I'm still considering myself a newbie, too. I've been trapping for a lot of years now, but I am also "under 40" so I don't have enough grey in my beard yet to call myself an expert. Can never learn enough about the sport, in my opinion.

I am new to this forum.  I used to trap muskrats with my dad as a kid, and last year I started trapping raccoons.  This year I am going to try and catch a lot of raccoon, and a few bobcat and coyote(very few coyotes in this area)  I live in Jewell Co.  If you are looking for supplies in KS, there is a trapping show in Yates Center coming up.  I think it is Oct 11-12.  I too am in the under 40 club.  I have a lot to learn about this sport.
